AT and New Shoes

After talking to Seth, Steven Keith (Vanderbilt's Cross Country Coach) and Steve Taylor we finally decided on today's AT workout. It was originally supposed to be 3 x 1 mile at 6:05 pace.
We decided on on doing (cut downs) 4 x 1 mile with 1 minute recovery between miles. Steve paced me for the first 3 miles. Splits of 6:15-6:05-6:05..and on the last mile he started with a 10 sec. lead at 6 min pace. My goal was to catch and beat him. My last mile was in 5:51!!! We tried to simulate race conditions focusing on pacing and mental skills. It was an AWESOME training session.

I did wear the new Adidas racing flats..(total wt 3.5oz)...they feel great except on my left foot. I now have a blister that I have to contend with. The left shoe just was a little lose. More so than the right...hence the blister. Otherwise they felt great and light!!!!
