Thanksgiving Taper and PIE

A Lot changes in a year. This time last year I was training for Mountain Mist and in Philly, NJ and NYC. I remember it was a down week and freaaking cold up there. I did'nt train much, just enjoyed the trip and company.

This year..I'm 10 days out from my first 50 miler..Thanksgiving started on Wed night with beers at Fying Saucer with friends, then an early morning call to help pace at the Blvd Bolt. Ran 5 miles at 6:20ish pace with the last mile at 5:50..I drank some Bailey's that morning (don't ask) I was sure I was going to hurl.:)

Anyway, with training done, visted lots of friends and joined them in thier Thanksgiving functions and decided to just eat pie..or other desserts. I did'nt gorge on any traditional Thanksgiving day foods(sweet potaoes, green stuff etc.) and there was plenty..just pie..especially this chocolate bourbon pecan pie..was my favorite.

Training is going great and on this day, with places to go, recieving many calls and messages I felt blessed as I finally went to sleep!!
