Depression: I'm always depressed somewhat after a big race. The euphoria doesn't last long
for me and I always spend a few days being down. Due in part that I don't train and
that the race beats me up somewhat and I have to recover, so it's no fun not doing
so much training!
This time I stripped my closet down and started redoing it!
Dessert: Spent the last day of my recovery week at Chris and Amy's eating a big, fat chocolate
homemade SUNDAY..it was fun to catch up with them and to eat all that sugar!!
Yoga: I also spent time doing lots of yoga. A friend opened a new studio so went to her opening
along with my other venues. It also helps with being down...
Hanging: Spent this week just hanging with some good people, saw some music and chilled at
at a few coffee shops and restaurants. Spent the other half avoiding people who bring
me grief!
Nothing Organized: I did nothing on a schedule, no schedule runs etc...the body kinda likes
this every once in awhile.
Stump Jump: 5 weeks till!! worked on my training plan for those 5 weeks. Looks good and I'm
excited about it!!!
Trip: Also I started planning my next trip out to the west coast!!!
Injury: I lost my toe nail on my big toe..I knew it would happen due to the amount of blood pool
under it when I drained it.
Book: Bought and almost finished a new book. "Kook" by Peter Heller..it's on surfing, life and
relationships!!!

Sounds like you have figured out what to do after a race to get your spirits back up. I think everyone experiences a little post race downer moment prob bc you have to get so fired up beforehand that your body and mind need a little breaktime afterwards
I did'nt experience the major "depression thing" this go around so maybe I did something right...probably the the "awesome" people I have around me.
Surrounding yourself with Awesome people always helps
