MASTER's 2nd place at SCENIC CITY 1/2

I'd have to say a decent outing Saturday at the Scenic City 1/2 trail marathon. First I'd say everything went smooth. I'm not talking about the race but everything leading up to the race. Travel, food consumption, hotel etc..For me all of those are an important set up for a good race and this past weekend all went smooth. I have been known to leave a bag in Nashville when I'm racing in Atlanta.

The race started on the road for about a mile before diverting to the trail. Gave the runners a chance to spread out some. The photo above is at the race start. My plan was to chill, go out at an easy pace around 7:30/mile and just hold it there. I beat my time from last year by 2 minutes coming in at 1:37. Coming in 14th overall and placing 2nd in the Masters Division which is like an age group placing to me.
AllI care about is how I did overall and was it a top 10.

This race is ran on Raccoon Mountain. I should say the top of it. It's a fast trail with some good rolling sections. I still feel I have not ran my best here. In June I get another chance because the 2nd day is on this course. I have no excuses.!!
