Well, my first 5K in something like six years at least. Need to look
that up to see when I did my last one and my time. I believe I was well
prepared for this race. I had the course etched in my mind, was warmed up and did all the
necessary pre-race details.
I placed fifth overall...not a lot of real competition but around 700 people. What I need to work on is to actually race and not turn it into a AT run. So the next few weeks
I'll work on that. I feel I left a lot on the course..meaning I can do better, faster.
My time was something like 18:55. I was shooting for 18:30 for my first time out.
So I was off a little. My thoughts? a) Racing flats will help. Need to find a good pair.
b) Got to become mentally tougher. c) Not worry about failing. Meaning if I blow up no
big deal as there are other races
