1st DAY as a BIKE MESSENGER

So my friend Austin has started a green friendly Bike messenger/courier service, called GREEN FLEET MESSENGERS. I told him I'd help him out if he ever becomes busy enough. It just so happens I've always had a dream of being a bike messenger. Everyone has seen those guys, especially in New York, San Francisco and Chicago. I've always thought they were cool and I've always wanted to do it. Today I got my chance. Although not as urban as the larger cities, Nashville is decent enough size to have this service. So here is a recap of my first day as a Bike messenger here in Music City!

Austin sends me a tx saying he has a pick up at Lowe's Vanderbilt to be delivered in downtown Nashville within 30 min. No problem, I pick up the package and cruise downtown to Walker, Tipps and Wallace(law firm). Have them sign papers and head to the coffee shop.:) Then he sends another tx for me to deliver in Green Hills. The first place, Woodmont Baptist Church. I find the big building by looking for the plus sign and drop off tickets for an Organ ceremony..guess they bought a new one? Then on to the MALL of Green Hills..walking around in the mall with my cool courier clothes got me a lot of stares but hey it is Nashville..Hick town so what the f--k! Then to Burton Hills in some god awful office building that I'd hate to be stuck in all day and delivered some more papers!
I thought I was done but he tx'ed again saying I needed to go to Universal..so I pedaled downtown. Picked up a CD of George Strait and to another large law office, Bone, Mcallester and Norton for a package to go over to the Supreme Court of Tn.
Jump on the fixie and swing by the Supreme Court..metal detector etc..drop off some papers then pedal over to music row to drop off the CD to music types. The difference from one office like the Law firm to the Music studio is amazing. All the people I talked to and had to deal with were really cool and super nice to me. Some couldn't believe I pedal around doing this..like it was hard or something? Anyway, another awesome adventure today and I got paid doing it..lovin life.:)

What a fun adventure...I've seen those bike messangers in Chicago, they are fast and crazy! Sounds like you have a new side job on your hands.
