Countdown 10-9-8-7..abort mission!

So most who read this know I was scheduled to go race the North Face Endurance Challenge 50 miler this past Saturday. Sometimes things do not always work out the
way you plan for it to. Before reading any further..just watch this video. It's from the music group "30 Seconds from Mars", at about 3:53 into it..this is the way I felt on Friday evening. Most know, I actually ride a fixed gear..so I like the videography. Remember..3:53 into the video

As you can see however, the dude gets back up and rides on. As will I. First, my original crew backed out..I rearranged accordingly, then my flight was cancelled out of Nashville Friday afternoon and Southwest could not get me to California in time. What about all my training?, all the emotions preparing for this race?. For a short while I felt like I was hit by a car or wishing I was. Then, I registered for the Lookout Mountain 100k(62miles). Whatever the director or the band was trying to say in the video, for me it was a little after I realized that the race was off, for me to just go back doing what I love (fixies and running) and remember it's a lifestyle and not about ONE race. I know there are more important things in life. The best thing I could do is to get back up and keep going. Going in the right direction, recover from being sidetracked , recover from being sick, place no blame, etc..get a good 8-9 days of training in then slide into this 62 miler. look at 2010 for another 50 miler. Thanks everyone for their support..it does not go un-noticed and it means a lot
