SCENIC CITY 1/2 TRAIL MARATHON

Scenic City Trail Marathon & Half Marathon's Course Records Shattered with Phenomenal Speed
Threatening rain clouds dwindled but the humid air stuck to anything dry as participants ritualistically prepared for this years 4th running of the Rock/Creek Scenic City Marathon & 1/2 Marathon. Nearly double the number of participants than last year, 500 hopeful racers representing 15 states, arrived to experience the flow of trails at Raccoon Mountain Pumped Storage Facility near Chattanooga, TN on Saturday May 22, 2010.The Scenic City Marathon & Half Marathon started at 8am with a giant pack of runners transitioning from pavement to the woods on single track trails along the perimeter of Raccoon Mountain.

So, a couple of weeks of "just trying to heal" training, I headed to Chattanooga, Tn. to see how
my foot would do under TRAIL and RACE CONDITIONS. RESULT: Surprisingly well. Didn't open up the cut and my feet were just a little tender. This trail in the past has put a big time hurt on my feet before so I'm happy my feet are none the worse. Especially the previous wound/cut.

Thought I'd use this race as a good training run, a little up tempo etc.. I left a little out on the course but still happy with the results. Again I wanted a top 10 placing, I place 12th, and I
definitely wanted a sub 1:40, which I got. Did a little 8 mile "jog out" today and felt good. So now some serious training begins!!!!!
