This was an epic run. I started out down Bright Angel Trail at 5:30 a.m. Within a few minutes I knew it wasn't my best day but whatever, I was committed. I made it down to Phantom Ranch around 2.5 hrs but I was taking my time and wanted to enjoy. I ran up on another r2r2r runner around Cottonwood Campground and climbed the North Kaibab trail together. His name was Marcus. From Toronto by the way of Germany and had raced Badwater, Hardrock and some Artic races. We hit the North trail head turned around and retraced our steps back to Phantom Ranch, refueled and decided to climb out on the south Kaibab trail. Total miles 43. I do plan to do this run again!
