HaHa...Saturday I finally went out and ran 20 miles. Lately I just have'nt found the motivation to go out and run anything in what I consider long. I have'nt had a problem training, just going really long (in training) as I still entertain the idea of long ultra events in my head.
Otherwise, I'm enjoying the heat 95F plus days, the humidity and the beginnings of summer vibe.
Oh, I attended the Music City Distance Festival Saturday. I saw some really fast times from 800m to the 5000 (which was won in 13:40ish I believe)

Looking Back....
I usually spend this time of year looking back on 2010. Just reviewing the race year.
Basically starting this process by asking two questions.
What went well for 2010?
What did not go well 2010?
I had probably the BEST race season to date in my Ultra running. First, I was one of a few selected to run for the ROCK CREEK TRAIL RACE TEAM. A big thank you goes out to them and their sponsorship. I had some great results/goals met at the Strolling Jim 40 and Bull Dog 50K..also some other smaller races went well. Traveled out to California 4 times I believe...that's always a good thing. Trained with top notch runner's here in Nashville and learned what they had to offer on training etc..
As far as what didn't go well can be traced to my shoe issue. I have not been able to find the correct shoes for my feet. Although I have a few leads for shoe selection for 2011. The shoe issue leads to my current foot issue and it really sucks not to be able to run with no pain...it's tiring.
I will spend the next few days planning out 2011 races, training, travel. The 100m race is /has been in my head for awhile. We'll see? So many options as far as races. Trail and Ultras have become really popular. Stay tuned!!

Summer Over?
It's September, not my favorite month as it marks the end of summer. I've given myself plenty of time to recover from Bull Dog and now have five weeks to tune up for Stump Jump. I've consulted with Ted, Jeff and Jamie concerning how best to race this course. I consider these guys the best on those trails so I should have a great idea what to do and when during the race.
Headed out tonight to watch Vanderbilt's X-country team at the first meet of the season. That always fires me up to watch others race, especially good collegiate athletes.

NEW TOY and I'M sure ADVENTURE
My new ride. Get a good look because I have many plans for this bike. Going to treat it like I have all my bicycles. Which I turned into fixed gear rides. Anyway, I feel guilty riding it as there are no pedals.Speaking of, I've caught a couple of stages of the TOUR. It still blows my mind how Americans believe this is the only bike race out there and the most important. Shows actually how little they know about the sport. Oh well...
The running streak is still alive..been running since Jan 1st everyday, at least 3 miles. Only Chris and I are left but believe we are calling it quits soon and have a big cook out for everyone!!
