My Tuesday workout didn't go so well...we think because I laid the miles out in the car. My times were way off on the mile repeats. So Friday I went to Lemon Bay High School, home to the Manta Rays and trained on their track. Did the same workout as last Friday...AT training for two miles...it went easy as these miles are supposed to be uncomfortable but doable. 1st mile in 5:55, 2400m at 9:02 and ended up with a 12:02 at the end of mile 2. So we were right about my mile repeat distance being off. Which made me feel better.
Did my last long run here on the island. Got in 12 miles this morning. It felt so easy , compared to some of the shorter runs. Why? Who knows. My body did not feel so beat up for one. I just enjoyed the scenery. I will miss the street names of Loomis, Groupers Cove and Peekins as I passed them many times. I've trained on the bike here before but enjoy running better. Can't wait to get back to this place.
