Way of an Athlete

I would like to give a big shout out to Rebekah, an athlete I've been working with lately. (photo above) She set a PR today in the 5K at the FRANKLIN CLASSIC. I had no doubt she could do it. She has been working hard. Too hard when I first started working with her. We backed down on her mileage some. Increased the intensitiy of her track sessions and most importantly had her believe and adopt the warrior (Athlete) Way.

Some can never obtain this mind set. However, when one does it's awesome!

THE WARRIOR (ATHLETE) MIND SET: it's not a sport, hobby or a past time..it's a way of life. We belong to an elite group. Always think, feel and act like a warrior(athlete) Set yourself apart from the rest of society with your personal excellence. Pursue internal objectives. Train to achieve personal excellence not rank or certificates.

She did that over the summer and set her personal best in September, and I'm sure many more persoanl best to come if she chooses! Great Job! Also a warrior in mind and body, my new friend Chris, who I met this past Thursday and ran with Sunday won the 10k in 33 and change. I'm lucky to work with and to have these athletes around me!
