Well, due to weather..a down pour of rain/sleet and wind/cold conditions..the race director made this 100k into a 50miler. Me personally, I didn't care. Would have done either. As I was ready for both distances.
I now know that 100 miles will be freaking TOUGH!
I traveled with Ted Townes..who did the 10k race (he took 2nd overall) then paced me from mile 33 to the finish. We both had a blast and thanks to his pacing and race strategy I held on to 9th place. (Totally another post there from mile 33 to 50mile and what went down)
I had goals in this race to place top 10 and to go sub-9 hours..so those were met!
My time: 8hrs 13 minutes
Place: 9th overall
It's always fun to race and chill in Chattanooga, Tn. Good friends and athletes there, a better vibe too when it comes to actual outdoor athletes, the Rock Creek store is awesome and the town has really good coffee shops.
Not much else to post..it's just another trail race completed. I would like to say a big big thank you to all the
people in my life that called me, emailed me or sent me a text, wishing me the best or checking on the outcome of this race. I do know I have lots of people who actually care and that makes me feel good..both before and after racing! Thank you again!

Woohoo! Awesome finish!
You deserve an award just for perseverance.
Congrats man. Now take that confederate flag off your messenger bag. The war is over and Kentucky is too addicted to pain pills to respond if the south tried to rise again.
